"The Way We Were" Screen Writer Arthur Laurents dies at 93



Academy Award nominated Sceen Writer Arthur Laurents died Thursday of pneumonia complications at the age of 93.

Arthur Laurents scripted Anastasia and Bonjour Tristesse. The Way We Were, in which he incorporated many of his own experiences, particularly those with the HUAC, reunited him with Barbra Streisand, and The Turning Point, inspired in part by his love for Nora Kaye, was directed by her husband Herbert Ross.

He was nominated for Best Original Screen Play and Best Picture for The Turning Point.  His credits include the stage musicals West Side Story and Gypsy
